Blogmas 2018 – Our Favourite Christmas Comedies

So it’s another *Date Night* but it’s blogmas, so we thought to kick off some pre-Christmas fun we’d chat about our favourite Christmas Comedies!

We both love Christmas and watch loads of films throughout December, and we’ll share some more with you throughout the month sharing some of our favourite Christmas movies!

Our favourite Christmas comedies

What follows is a random list of films that really make us laugh! Some are sillier than others, but that’s half the fun of this time of year right?!

our favourite Christmas comedies - The Grinch
How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

The Grinch is a brilliant Christmas movie, it’s so utterly christmassy and Jim Carrey as The Grinch never fails to make us laugh.

I’m still waiting on a cover of Where Are You Christmas by The Pretty Reckless though!

our favourite Christmas comedies - Jingle all the way
Jingle all the Way (1996)

“Put that cookie down! Now!”

Such a great story with genuinely funny moments! Arnie is amazing, Christmas is amazing put the two together and it’s a perfect match!

our favourite Christmas comedies Fred Claus
Fred Claus (2007)

This is a slightly different take on the standard Christmas Santa story, and it has some genuinely funny moments, as well as a lot of heart. For some reason Vince Vaughn seems to start the run of Christmas movies in our house!

our favourite Christmas comedies Deck the Halls
Deck the Halls (2006)

A genuinely fun, original Christmas movie with so many comedic moments from start to finish, and a great cast. There are moments it goes a little too far maybe, but it’s really nice to see a film that possibly gets as close to Christmas Vacation as we’ve had in a long time.

Do you have your Christmas lights up yet??

our favourite Christmas comedies The Santa Clause
The Santa Clause (1 and 2… 3 even if it’s the worst one) (1994, 2002, 2006)

Is it even Christmas until Tim Allen declares “He’s Naked Somewhere!”? This trilogy is a must watch every Christmas, even if the third one is a bit pants. The “secret santa” scene in Santa Clause 2 is one of Kay’s favourite Christmas movie moments too!

our favourite Christmas comedies Christmas Vacation
Christmas Vacation (1989)

Definitely one of the first films to come to mind when talking Christmas Comedy, classic family fun at it’s best! I think nobody can say it better than Clark Griswold himself: “Where do you think you’re going? Nobody’s leaving. Nobody’s walking out on this fun, old-fashioned family Christmas. No, no. We’re all in this together.”

Our favourite Christmas comedies Elf
Elf (2003)

“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear”

Will Ferrell is completely in his element in this film and you can tell! It’s so funny, and sweet and cheesy, and that makes perfect Christmas entertainment!
