So it’s another *Date Night* but it’s blogmas, so we thought in today’s post we’d share our favourite Christmas movies for grown ups!
It’s been good pre-Christmas fun talking about our favourite Christmas movies! We both love Christmas and watch loads of films throughout December, and we’ve loved sharing with you through this month!
Our Favourite Christmas Movies For Grown Ups
What follows is a random list of Christmas movies for a more grown up audience, or at least an audience into more than elves and carols!
Gremlins (1984)
Gizmo is SO cuuuuute!! I adore this film, I actually had the Gremlins theme as my ringtone for ages! It’s funny, and silly, and there aren’t enough good Christmas horror films!
Bad Santa (2003)
This film is just brilliantly funny. It’s a nice break from the cheesiness of so many Christmas films (not that we don’t love those too!)

Die Hard (1988)
Die Hard is just brilliant isn’t it!
Is it a Christmas movie though… It’s set at Christmas, mentions Christmas and events happen because it is Christmas, and there is Christmas music… So yes. Yes it is.
Batman Returns (1992)
This film is just so good. The first Batman is obviously the best, but this is so Tim Burton, and well, it’s the only Batman film that takes place at Christmas, so… It’s in!

Scrooged (1988)
Essential Christmas viewing, it’s a fun “modern” take on the A Christmas Carol storyline, and Bill Murray is just brilliant! The lowest age rating here, but in this list due to pure cynicism!
Krampus (2015)
This film was SUCH a long time coming! It’s so brilliant! We love a good horror movie anyway (and possibly a less than good horror movie!) Krampus is great fun, and maybe inspired this:
(A £1 bronze coloured bell from Wilko which I painted black and scratched out the detailing, it’s not perfect but well, check how much they are online…)
