Happy Halloween! Before I share my handmade Halloween happy mail, Lets do some decorating…
Ah that’s better!
Do you do any decorating for Halloween? I do have some fun cards to share, but if you’re looking for some more Halloween fun, check out my Halloween Shortbread!! If you give it a try, leave me a comment!!
I had a bit of fun with the cards I sent out this month! Mostly using up some more of my stash. I had these small square black cards, and decided they would be perfect for some Halloween happy mail! I stamped each of the sentiments onto some cardstock, and cut them out. It was nice to do something a little different!
This pumpkin Halloween card was made from four punched circles, and a small piece of green card, with detail added in bronze sharpie.
This little spider made me smile! And I’m usually afraid of them! Keeping to the theme, I added some extra detail in a gold pen, in order to add some depth to this cute “Trick or Treat” card.
I found a sheet of Halloween peel-offs buried at the bottom of my collection; and so, used a silver sharpie to colour in these ghosts, adding a haunted house and tree.
I had to use this witch, and she made me think of nothing but Elphaba! So green she had to be. You can’t really see in the photo, but she does in fact have some pretty red glittery shoes of her own here…
Details added in with silver sharpie.
Want to know how I made my cute little cardstock pumpkin?
- I cut out 12 circles from orange cardstock, folding them in half.
- Join them with a square of double sided tape, (you can use these on cards too)
- To make a complete pumpkin, simply attach each segment until they meet. Adding the stalk to the middle with a little tape, and presto a cute little paper pumpkin!
- For cards simply stick the final two edges onto your card instead for a 3D pumpkin.
I know Halloween cards aren’t really a thing but these were really good fun to make, and I kinda like the idea of making Halloween happy mail a thing! I mean we all need a bit of fun in the dreary autumn weather right?
Of course, I had to have a real pumpkin too! I’ve gone for a dia de muertos theme this year.
We’re not really doing anything tonight, probably just relaxing with some hot chocolate and a horror movie or two! I’m sure there will be some trick or treaters to greet at the door!
How are you spending your Halloween? Feel free to share your Halloween decorating or pumpkin pics over on the Facebook Page!
What a lovely post of fun halloween things to do, we don’t celebrate halloween and where we live never get any knocks on the door
Where we are, they only come if you decorate so I think it’s nice. It’s a bit of fun isn’t it!! There’s always crafts! And I know some places here do events for kids at Halloween too!
I love the idea of the Halloween cards, a great way to use up some of the stationery stash
Thank you! I agree – it should SO be a thing!
