This Week #1 – Starting the Year, Handmade Gifts, National Trust Trelissick, and Sale Shopping

We’re 10 days in to January, and it’s been pretty quiet! I’ve been working a lot so there’s not been much going on so far! The weather’s been pretty terrible too, so it doesn’t exactly make you want to go and spend time outside!

These posts will be a bit of a mix of places we go, cinema trips, anything interesting happening, as well as any short mentions that don’t really warrant a full post, I’ll also use Fridays as a way of sharing any online challenges and updates on the big 35 before 35 challenge!

Usually I’ll just be filling you in on the week, but as it’s the beginning, I’ll go a bit further back, just to give you more of an idea of what I get up to if you didn’t follow my old blog!

Speaking of challenges, I host #CraftBlogClub over on Twitter every Tuesday, and we do an annual Secret Santa, my gifts were from the lovely Sarah of Adventure Accessories!

Gorgeous lilac hiking mitts! (Perfect for me as my hands are ALWAYS cold) a pretty mulicoloured bracelet, and some washi tape for my collection! (The text is Shakespeare too!)

On New Year’s Eve, we went to Trelissick, our nearest National Trust property, for a wintery walk. We get Couples membership for Stu’s Birthday every year, and it’s so worth it, there are quite a few places in Cornwall to visit, and we quite often head somewhere if we’re elsewhere in the UK too!

Trelissick was still dressed up for Christmas at the end of the year, with pretty Christmas trees, lights along pathways and festive treats in the cafe…

It was a nice walk, and as I was full of cold at the time, I thought the fresh air would probably do me some good! It also meant I got to rock my gift (which are utterly perfect because I can still use my phone wandering around, and I’m a bit obsessed with photographing everything!)

Otherwise it’s been quite a quiet week! We went to see Jumanji – The Next Level at the cinema on New Year’s Day. I started reading a book I got for Christmas

I’m a big fan of the Studio Ghibli film, and have said I wanted to read the books for years!

I did end up buying this Disney set in Primark on sale for £5 I don’t really need an excuse to buy Disney stuff, but I need to update my holiday packing stuff anyway and this was super cute!

Other than that we’ve been chilling at home! I am just about recovered frm my cold, and looking forward to a healthier January from now!

What have you been up to so far this month?
