At the end of last week Stu and I both had a couple of days off work and decided to make the most of the nice weather with some days out. As it’s so sunny at the moment; we hopped in the car for a drive to Marazion for some much-needed time by the sea.
We enjoyed the sunshine so much, it seemed only appropriate to take some photos to share…

Marazion is Cornwall’s oldest town, located on the south coast, at Mount’s Bay, not far from Penzance. A popular holiday destination, and home to National Trust managed, St Michael’s Mount.

Read about our visit to St Michael’s Mount here.

The beach is of course a great place for everyone in summer time, and is also popular for water sports.
Our Visit to Marazion
It was such a lovely hot day, and we made no plans, just wandering. The joy of this, going off the beaten path, just enjoying exploring, like discovering a sweet little gallery and shop; Out of the Blue, which I just HAD to have a look around.
Full of nautical and beach themed art and gifts, it’s such a cool little gallery to have a look around, and of course to buy something to take home too!

There was so much I loved! Even the surroundings themselves, as one of the oldest buildings in Marazion, complete with rope ladders on the ceilings, and wooden chests! So much to love! Also they have a website – which you can check out HERE!!
I got chatting to Julia aka “Joo from the blue” and even purchased a little glass hanging boat for myself! It goes with my nautical theme in the bathroom at home, and it’s especially fitting as I have some hanging glass fish already!

If that wasn’t enough, we also visited Marazion’s local little museum, and enjoyed a look around there (full of local curiosities, and history) and to finish up we had an ice cream!!

Hope you had a great weekend and have been enjoying the recent warm weather*! I’ll be back soon with some more crafty posts!
(*For those of you not in the UK, if you’re anywhere cold, I hope you enjoyed this little spot of sunshine!)

Lovely, St Michael’s Mount is somewhere I’ve always wanted to go, along with its French counterpart Mont St Michel.
It’s truly beautiful! Marazion alone is worth a visit 🙂 I’m lucky to live so close by!
Marazion was freezing cold when I was there in spring last year. Brrr. Ruined my shoes in the rain and sand and am still surprised I didn’t catch a cold. But being by the sea was lovely and St Michael’s Mount is well worth a visit. Good to see you had sunshine!
Ah yes! Cornwall is prone to a bit of rain… It was a lovely day though 🙂
