12 Days Of Christmas 2019 – Lanhydrock Masked Ball

Honestly we were going to do a different National Trust Christmas event this year, but then we heard about the NEW Masked Ball! And we had to go and check it out!

It is no secret that Lanhydrock House is probably my favourite National Trust property, it is incredible, and I’ve blogged about it more than once… But indulge me, and join me;

Lanhydrock Masked Ball 2019

The Christmas decorations at Lanhydrock house are always beautiful, and this year was no exception! A number of decorated Christmas trees, garlands and wreathes were on fine display! Even the garden was decorated with these bauble flowers!

Of course we toured the house, the decorating with such high detail, from the grand hallways all the way down to the kitchens! And real food (for display only!) the Gingerbread Lanhydrock House was a personal favourite!

And of course no tour this year, would be complete without the Masked Ball! It was fabulous fun, with a trail for younger visitors; (or anyone else, I had a go!) to find the uninvited guest!

The costumes really were the star of the show this year; the masked ball added something completely different to what you would see on a normal visit, and such an array of wonderfully crafted gowns, masks and costumes!

A gorgeous display of genuine costumes recreated by volunteers! All of this was created when old documents and images were discovered within the house this year! It’s incredible to think this has been newly discovered; but it’s wonderful to be able to experience it!

Of course Lanhydrock is a favourite place to visit, but this was so much more special, as this was a new discovery, so I fully intend to find another property to share with you all in 2020!

Have you been out anywhere this Christmas? Or perhaps to a party of your own? Let me know in the comments or over on social media!
