Happy New Year – Hello 2021!

Happy New Year! So, here we are, the beginning of a new year, a fresh start, a new page etc etc! I’m sure I’m not the only one typing “Hello 2021” with a little more hope than previous years!

Happy New Year from The Craft Room and Beyond

I’m not going to be all “New Year – New Me”, because it’s not my style. I don’t even have a huge amount of “goals” but I thought I’d take a little bit of time to share some of what you can expect here on The Craft Room and Beyond this year!

The Craft Room and Beyond 2021

This blog is only a year old at this point; though content has been imported and edited further back than that, so many features from before will remain. Not to mention last year was a little… Different!

Some things didn’t work, which is fine, and as always I’m always willing to chat about anything people would like to see or read about!

We’re starting the year here in Tier 3, so I’m working, from the outset at the moment. Outside of that; the one intention I have; is to definitely make more time for blogging and working on things for the blog this year. I find myself getting behind and stressing out, because I haven’t made the most of free time when I have it! Tips definitely welcome!

The Friday Night Film 2021:

This was so much fun last year. So as much as I usually come up with a different movie challenge each year, we have once again gone for the A-Z Movie Challenge.

Movie Night - Friday Night Film jar 2021

As a reminder, there are 52 stars in the jar, labelled A-Z, in both red and blue. We take turns each week to pick a star; if it’s red it’s my choice, and blue is Stu’s – and you need to pick ANY film beginning with the letter on the star. We have made a change to 4 of the letters (due to lack of options, and added “or #” to Q, U, V and Y; meaning we can pick a film with a number as the start of the title instead). This starts again tonight! So keep an eye on Twitter, where I share what we’re watching each week, before updating here!

Days Out:

We didn’t do too badly last year, considering, even getting to some new places. Obviously I’m hoping we’ll manage to get out a little more this year to share more fun adventures!

I am all for more days out this year!

Even if this is once again restricted to the local area, I’m hoping to check out a few more places every month!

Home and Garden:

I really want to tackle some more home and garden posts this year, there are a few things I’d like to get done; both big and small!

If there’s anything you’d like to see, or see more of, let me know!

The Craft Room:

I have a few projects planned for this year, sewing, knitting and cross-stitch wise; and I really want to try and up my seasonal content, where I can; so ideas definitely welcome! (Socials linked below!)

I also want to go back to sharing the cards I make each month, so you’ll see some more of that! 2021 sees the first time I try out a bujo too, so we’ll see how that goes!

Beyond Craft:

What is Beyond Craft? Also known as #BCChat over on Twitter, Beyond Craft is a weekly chat hour for creatives. We do random challenges and swaps, but mostly just chill, and chat about whatever. We have a no-selling, non-promotional policy, unlike a lot of Twitter chats; and it’s all about meeting like-minded people for a relaxed bit of networking.

Think of it as going out for a drink or a coffee, and just seeing who’s around! We have our regulars, and people who occasionally drop by to say hello! Anyone is welcome! Why not come and say hi in our first chat of 2021 on Tuesday 5th at 8pm UK time! I’ll even be launching our first challenge of the year!

Once again Happy New Year!

Let’s hope this one’s a good one!
