Cross Stitch – Love Tree (Part 1)

On the desk is back! I’m planning on being a little more realistic this year though! With motivation in mind, I thought I’d start the year with a new cross-stitch project; this is one kit I’ve had lined up for a while, Love Tree from Bothy Threads.

On the desk...

I didn’t really get into any stitching last year, and so I do need to finish The Scarf, but I thought starting fresh with a new project would motivate me. So let me introduce you to my current project…

Love Tree

I wanted this kit for a while; and got it for my birthday a couple of years ago. I left it on the backburner for a while; as it’s not a very complex project, with lots of little elements. Perfect for sharing here on the blog.

I’m a big fan of kits from Bothy Threads as they come with everything you need for a project. Now I don’t stitch all that often, it’s just nice to get everything you need, pre sorted and clearly labelled.

Check out my now side-lined The Scarf project here.

Pre sorted threads, (how lovely are these colours?!) Plus this cute bag of beads and sequins! A LARGE and clear pattern; perfect for picking up and getting on right away!

Getting Started

One thing people who know me well, know; is that I loathe stitching with metallic threads! This is another reason Love Tree had been put to one side! The trunk and branches of the tree, are all silver metallic thread (thankfully I still have a Thread Heaven cube… I’ll miss that when it’s gone!) I want to get this out of the way first, so these updates may not be very colourful at first!

I’m not planning on going too crazy with stitching aims this year, but ideally spend a little time working on it throughout the week, and see how that goes! I will be posting regular updates here on the blog too!

Do you have any projects lined up for the beginning of the year? I’d love to see what you’re working on! Let me know in the comments or over on socials (all links below).

  1. That look very pretty. I should really dig my cross stitches out (thankfully not left in the shed!)
