Heart Shaped Papercraft – Valentines Gift Box

I thought I’d begin my Valentines crafting with a really cute; easy papercraft project – a heart shaped valentines gift box, made from regular cardstock.

Feel the Love

I thought I’d have some fun while in lockdown and get creative for Valentines; with some quick and easy craft projects; all made using my stash!

Valentines Gift Box

When I started looking for Valentines craft ideas to work on, I headed to the Cricut Design Space. I found this in the images section, and it is free; so anyone can cut this on their Cricut machines, as far as I can tell.

I resized the cut image to A4 size.

This is the cutout, which as small tabs to indicate fold lines as far as I can tell. Obviously this was in the images section, not Projects, so it does not come with instructions of any kind.

I folded the edge tabs, and using double sided tape, I formed the box.

One thing I didn’t really understand was the size and shape of the side sections. They do not meet in the middle and are wider; but with the little cutouts, in the sides near the edge. In the end; I folded these to make them straighter and using more tape stuck them to the inside of the hearts.

I filled the heart shaped box with some shredded tissue paper; and of course you can then use them for any gifts or filling you so wish! these are great for any time of year, from Valentines to Mother’s Day or even birthdays, weddings and anniversaries,

The box pattern is so simple; and of course you could use patterned cardstock or decorate; using anything from stickers, punched shapes or messages…
