Circus Funtasia – Truro 2021*

Since the fun of the recent family visit and days out; and of course our night out to see Isabelle’s Tour, in Newquay; we’ve been quite excited to find more fun activities! This week; we discovered Circus Funtasia, right here in Truro! We were kindly offered tickets* to come and see the show; and share our review here on the blog!

I was gifted* tickets to the show, all opinions are our own.

Currently in Hendra Park Truro, Circus Funtasia is a genuinely great show for all the family! Right in the heart of the city. Check out the link below for more info and tickets.

Amazing!

When the circus is just a short walk from home, it is incredibly hard to resist; and we’re definitely glad we got to check it out! Not really knowing what to expect; and having stepped outside after the show; I am sorely tempted to just type “amazing” over and over again. But I’m sure you’d like a little more to go on!

The show was a brilliantly modern twist on the traditional; with song and dance numbers, pop-culture references and brilliant twists on the usual circus fare! It was an especially lively hour and a half (with a short interval) that had the whole audience on the edge of their seats, and clapping along throughout! I’d say older audiences would definitely enjoy this show more than some others, which seem to aim more at younger audience members, this is totally family friendly, though a little longer than some shows, with a definite little extra with the stunt aspects.

Snacks from popcorn and candyfloss, to burgers and chips were available in the interval, as well as hot and cold drinks, ice cream and even beer and wine for the grown-ups!

Featuring acts with an edge, Circus Funtasia was creative and so entertaining, whether it was clowning around;

Hitting the heights of the big top

Juggling

Playing with fire

Or turning summersaults on the Wheel of Death (Nailbiting!)

The transitions were seamless; fun and so varied; and in contrast to a lot of similar shows, the whole cast were involved throughout; not just as individual acts, but as an ensemble which is always wonderful to watch.

If that wasn’t enough, the Globe of Death finale was utterly spectacular, and something we’d never actually seen in person!

Totally Recommended

Honestly these few photos don’t do it justice, and I certainly recommend checking out the show if you can! Circus Funtasia is currently in Truro until September 10th, then heading over to Pool and then St Austell, they’ll be around for a little longer yet, so head on over to the Circus Funtasia website to get tickets, and enjoy a last blast at the end of summer!
