Paulos Circus 2021 – Back to the Big Top*

We were delighted to see that Paulos Circus, and the big top tend were heading back to Cornwall in summer 2021! Of course we have been lucky enough to enjoy the last two shows, though I was afraid we would miss it, as we have had family visiting last week! As it happens, I was offered free tickets* to see the show with our guests too! Making it an extra special experience, as some of our party had never been to the circus before!

Paulos Circus 2021 - Isabelle's Tour

Currently visiting Newquay, Cornwall until September 18th, you can still catch the show, before it heads out of town! And of course for those not in the area, check out the website and the end of the post, to see if the tour is heading close to you!

The tickets were gifted* in return for an honest review, all opinions are my own.

The Seal Sanctuary – Saving Sealife in Cornwall

Located in Gweek, Cornwall, not far from Helston; the Seal Sanctuary, part of the Sea Life Trust charity; is a great day out for all the family. With nature walks, farm animals, penguins sea lions and of course seals. Recently the Secret Creek, home to three totally cute beavers. Located in a pretty coastal valley, and open year round, there is plenty to see on repeat visits.

A day out to...

We have visited at different times of year before; and can definitely attest to there being lots to see, at different times of year rain or shine.

Bujo – August 2021 Setup [AF]

I feel like after 7 months, I should stop saying I’ve never attempted bullet journaling before. It’s something in the last several months, I have grown to love; use and find good in; in so many ways. It helps me get organised; record and track things; and there’s something nice about spending a little time whether weekly or daily looking through, and filling in certain parts. In this post I’ll be sharing my August 2021 setup.

This post contains affiliate links (marked [AF] clicking these links will not cost you any more, though I will make a marginal sum from any purchases you make).

I got my journal for around £10 on Amazon, from Stationery Island; I actually got a kit which came with a ruler, some stickers (yay) and a pen.

Envelope Cushion Cover – Quick Project

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a quick craft project, here on the blog; so I thought I’d share something I made recently for the rocking chair in the craft room. I shared the fabric over on Instagram ages ago, but in this post I’ll share what I made – a super easy envelope cushion cover.

Craft Room and Beyond, Crafts Header

As I’m sure you’ll already know by now, my craft room is a mix of teal and grey (wonder where I got my blog design idea…) and it’s also dotted with Disney, and especially Alice in Wonderland bits and pieces! I have a rocking chair in there, and for the longest time, I’ve said I want to do something with it to make it more in-keeping with the room.

Well, not too long ago (a couple of months?) Stu’s mum tagged me in a pic on Facebook, of a local fabric shop’s latest fabric additions, which were all Alice in Wonderland themed!

Rainy Day Jigsaw Puzzle [Ad: Gifted]

So, the beginning of this week, started with rain! If there’s anything I love about a rainy day, it’s that you can properly relax, and I chose to work on a jigsaw puzzle. I was recently contacted by Wentworth Puzzles, and they gifted me a gorgeous 1000 piece puzzle; to share here on the blog. With this in mind, I thought it would make a nice change, to share something I get up to that isn’t craft related!

This Week

I love jigsaw puzzles, though I don’t always have time to do them; so on this rainy Monday, it was a really nice chance to sit down and take the day to myself! I popped on a podcast playlist, and got puzzling!

Bujo – July 2021 Setup [AF]

As a reminder, I’ve never attempted bullet journaling before. But having tried scrapbooking (a lot); something between scrapping and art journaling; and even just having a planner last year(!) I thought it was time I gave it a go! In this post I’m sharing my July 2021 setup…

Our Garden in 2021 and Wild Week 4

Our garden has of course been the subject of a few blog posts over the last couple of years! IT has a few statement pieces, such as our upcycled Belfast sink planter, and the bunting pinned to the fence! But what’s new in the garden in 2021?

With a few additional colourful pots and LOTS of colourful planting, I thought I’d share our garden this year, and catch up with our final week of 30 days wild!

Pride 2021 and the Craftic Challenge

June is of course Pride month, and for Pride 2021, I wanted to do a couple of things! First of all I wanted to do a craft project, I also wanted to buy from an LGBTQ+ small, indie business; and in doing so, support someone’s dreams, and get something pretty for me; but something that was also representative of Pride. I also wanted to take part in the Craftic Pride Rainbow Challenge!

Wow, that’s a busy little list, when you add it to the projects I’m working on already, and the 30 Days Wild, and of course not forgetting the day job…

Garden Bunting and Wild Week 3

What lovely amazing weather we’ve been having! All the better for getting out in the garden, and of course; if I’m spending more time out there, it made me realise how much I needed to renew the garden bunting!

30 Days Wild graphic with tree and flowers and a bee in the 0

This has become even more noticeable, as I’ve been out planting; doing more of the 30 days wild list; and of course, enjoying family time in the sunshine!

Tintagel a Wild Walk Through Arthurian Legend

Tintagel, on the north coast of Cornwall, is a village steeped in Arthurian Legend, or in other words is alleged to be the former home of King Arthur. Now run by English Heritage, you can visit the site, enjoy the coast, and learn what part Cornwall may have played in this historical tale.

A day out to...

We headed out to visit on a lovely sunny day recently, so I thought I’d share the day with you, here on the blog!
