Pride 2021 and the Craftic Challenge

June is of course Pride month, and for Pride 2021, I wanted to do a couple of things! First of all I wanted to do a craft project, I also wanted to buy from an LGBTQ+ small, indie business; and in doing so, support someone’s dreams, and get something pretty for me; but something that was also representative of Pride. I also wanted to take part in the Craftic Pride Rainbow Challenge!

Wow, that’s a busy little list, when you add it to the projects I’m working on already, and the 30 Days Wild, and of course not forgetting the day job…

Garden Bunting and Wild Week 3

What lovely amazing weather we’ve been having! All the better for getting out in the garden, and of course; if I’m spending more time out there, it made me realise how much I needed to renew the garden bunting!

This has become even more noticeable, as I’ve been out planting; doing more of the 30 days wild list; and of course, enjoying family time in the sunshine!

Upcycled Desktop Chest of Drawers

We’re back in the craft room, also known as “My Upcycled Craft Room” and today I’m sharing my latest project! An upcycled desktop chest of drawers! This has been on my to do list for such a long time; and I’m so excited to share the finished job!

My Upcycled Craft Room

This also tied in nicely with the Upcycling challenge, on the weekly Beyond Craft chat over on Twitter. I’ll share more about that at the end of the post.

Bujo – June 2021 Setup [AF]

As a reminder, I’ve never attempted bullet journaling before. But having tried scrapbooking (a lot); something between scrapping and art journaling; and even just having a planner last year(!) I thought it was time I gave it a go! In this post I’m sharing my June 2021 setup…

I got my journal for around £10 on Amazon, from Stationery Island; I actually got a kit which came with a ruler, some stickers (yay) and a pen.

73 Questions With The Craft Room and Beyond

I’ve happened across a couple of blog posts sharing this tag; based on Vogue’s 73 Questions with… series. I thought it would be fun to work my way through! I have tried to keep my answers short as there are so many, and have interspersed some images to keep it from being a huge wall of text!

73 Questions with The Craft Room and Beyond

So, read on to find out a little about me; from the obvious, not to mention the more obscure! (Honestly who came up with these questions?!)

Bright Knitted Jumper Project

I first started this bright knitted jumper project ages ago; and keep putting it down to work on other things! Lately though I have picked it back up again, to work on it a little more; and thought I’d share a little update!

On the desk...

When I started knitting this jumper I was going to make it purely with rectangles as a super quick and easy slouch jumper, though my limited skill has improved to the extent I am working on slightly better sleeves.

Handmade Happy Mail 2021

I usually send handmade happy mail out every now and again; to friends and family. A little something sweet through the letterbox is fun to both send and receive! I had a chilled evening recently and decided to make a whole bunch of cards, so I had some ready!

Happy Mail

I’ve had one particular matching set of card blanks for a while now. I love the cute patterns and colours, as well as the style of the open front ones! This week I spent one evening choosing various coordinating toppers, to make around 25 handmade cards!

Movies and Music – A-Z Challenge 2021

If there are topics that are sort-of asides here on the blog, it is movies and music. I’m an avid movie watcher, and have always loved music! I’ve tried to incorporate both of these into my craft projects over time; as well as devoted posts here and there, in terms of favourites, and other features!

A-Z Challenge 2021

This year my A-Z Challenge theme is: The Craft Room and Beyond – A Retrospective. A look back at previous content and basically a chance to share and revisit some things from the archive. As well as exploring things that haven’t made it to the blog yet! As I have said before; if you see something that piques your interest that I don’t link to; certainly seek out the search bar, or get in touch!

Mini Easter Canvas Art – Quick Easter Crafts

As we’re still in Lockdown; and I wanted to up my seasonal content; I’ve been looking for some fun Easter crafting. Mostly because I just want fun things to work on! I was checking out some quick things to do and found some cute mini Easter Canvas squares, which seemed just the thing!

On the desk...

So I love a bit of colouring, it’s relaxing, and colour in canvasses are easy to do with a handful of pens, if you don’t want the hassle of dealing with paint! I should point out, although I have worked with Hobbycraft in the past; this post is not sponsored; I just wanted to share it!
