I thought I would start with a project I have worked on before; Santoro Gorjuss The Scarf cross-stitch; but just struggled to make time to work on! Here’s hoping this new year, I have refreshed motivation!
This week I’ve decided to dig out a cross-stitch kit! I used to do tons of stitching, and then I got out of the habit, and it’s something I’d like to get back to again. I find it really relaxing and I’ve actually been stitching since I was 7. I’d like to complete at least one kit this year, as I have many waiting for me to even start!

There’s nothing like a break away, and we recently had a weekend away in Somerset, staying in the pretty village of Montacute. Where better to start the first day of our trip; than the property a mere five minute walk from where we stayed: Montacute House.
After going to Haynes Motor Museum on the way, before reaching our B&B that evening. On our first proper day, we set out to visit a couple of National Trust sites nearby to enjoy a relaxed sunny Saturday…

Hoop art, is definitely more popular now than it was a few years ago, and it is a great craft for making a gift, or even decorating at Christmas, there are SO many great Christmas fabric designs which are really good fun for many projects; and it is nice to have a different use if you’re not big on sewing, as I wasn’t up til a couple of years ago!
This post contains items which I have kindly been gifted * All opinions are my own.
Christmas fabric is also a great eco friendly alternative to paper for wrapping! Especially for those harder to wrap gifts!
