Our Garden in 2021 and Wild Week 4

Our garden has of course been the subject of a few blog posts over the last couple of years! IT has a few statement pieces, such as our upcycled Belfast sink planter, and the bunting pinned to the fence! But what’s new in the garden in 2021?

With a few additional colourful pots and LOTS of colourful planting, I thought I’d share our garden this year, and catch up with our final week of 30 days wild!

Garden Bunting and Wild Week 3

What lovely amazing weather we’ve been having! All the better for getting out in the garden, and of course; if I’m spending more time out there, it made me realise how much I needed to renew the garden bunting!

This has become even more noticeable, as I’ve been out planting; doing more of the 30 days wild list; and of course, enjoying family time in the sunshine!

Bright Knitting Update and Wild Week 2

I thought I’d share a little bit of a bright knitting update this week; as I have finally finished the first sleeve of the jumper! I am of course also still trying to participate in The Wildlife Trust’s 30 Days Wild; and thought I’d share what I’ve been up to this week.

The goal of 30 Days Wild is to do something wild; or connect with nature in some way, for 30 days.

30 Days Wild – 2021 Week 1

This month, is also 30 Days Wild, created by The Wildlife Trust, it’s all about getting in touch with nature, and learning how we can do our part to preserve, protect and learn more about living alongside wildlife. I won’t be doing everything on the 30 days list (because I can’t) though I will try to do as many as possible throughout the month, and share what I get up to here on the blog!

I’m looking forward to taking on a little more, paying more attention, and generally appreciating nature!

Getting into the Garden – A-Z Challenge 2021

Getting into the garden, or exploring those around us. Definitely a couple of our regular activities! I’m not in any sense a gardening expert; but I am slowly learning; and love sharing some of my projects on the blog. As well as, of course; our visits to local gardens, and those further afield!

A-Z Challenge 2021

One week into the 2021 A-Z Challenge; and I am sharing a retrospective; or look back at The Craft Room and Beyond. Sharing past content, and photos from the archive! Of course I may mention other things, and not link to them; if you’d like to know more, feel free to leave a comment, or try the search bar!

Happy New Year – Hello 2021!

Happy New Year! So, here we are, the beginning of a new year, a fresh start, a new page etc etc! I’m sure I’m not the only one typing “Hello 2021” with a little more hope than previous years!

Happy New Year from The Craft Room and Beyond

I’m not going to be all “New Year – New Me”, because it’s not my style. I don’t even have a huge amount of “goals” but I thought I’d take a little bit of time to share some of what you can expect here on The Craft Room and Beyond this year!

A Day Out To – Lanhydrock Gardens

I’m so glad we’re getting back to going out once or twice a month again; we’ve visited Trelissick already, and now it’s time for Lanhydrock Gardens. It’s a little more complicated with booking in advance, so a there’s not as much chance to be impulsive.

You can find out more about booking visiting times for the National Trust here.

But with the amazing weather we’re having at the moment; it’s so nice to get out, and enjoy some of our favourite places in the sunshine!

A day out to...

Of course the National Trust houses aren’t open yet; which is understandable, but it’s a rare treat to be able to get out and enjoy Lanhydrock’s beautiful gardens; which, if you’re eagle eyed when it comes to past posts, our visits usually get a bit rainy! (This is purely coincidental! We just have bad luck visiting when it comes to the weather!) The gardens are beautiful, and there is so much to see.

A Day Out To – Trelissick Gardens

Finally we are able to get out and about again! So we’re heading not too far from home this week, to one of our favourite nearby National Trust sites, Trelissick Gardens.

A day out to...

Now I’m back to work facing the general public again, so, it meant we’ve decided to make the occasional booking for a day out again. At least here, a few places are open, in some capacity, with timed arrivals spots available for booking around a day or two in advance.

Of course this is a difficult time, but we really enjoy our wanders around local National Trust properties and gardens, and have missed them so much over the lockdown, so for our first wander (aside from the local park) we booked to visit Trelissick.

Painted Garden Furniture * Project Garden

Painted garden furniture was something I had in mind for the garden; which I never thought I’d actually do! Something that always seemed a little too adventurous, and probably too difficult to do. But in the spirit of doing up the garden, and making it a much more fun space to hang out in; here we are!

This post contains a gifted product or products*, the content of this post is entirely my opinion.

In the garden

As I say, painting the plastic furniture, seemed a little too much of a pipe dream; until I was chatting recently with the lovely people at Pinty Plus about a collaboration!

The Lost Gardens of Heligan – Has Spring Sprung?

This last weekend has been beautiful, with sunny skies and temperatures bordering on (dare I say it?) warm! We decided it was the perfect time to visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan!

A day out to...

In comparison this time last year; we were facing the Beast From the East, and hiding away from the cold and snow!

Around this time last year we made this guy! Using up all the snow in the garden!
