Now we’re heading towards the end of September, the leaves are turning, it’s somehow immediately turning colder in the evenings, and so, you’re maybe starting to think about spending more time inside crafting? If that’s the case, why not take part in this week’s # CraftRoomInspiredChallenge!

Now we’re in mid September, the leaves are starting to turn, and you’re more likely to find some sticks and twigs around… If that’s the case, why not take part in this week’s # CraftRoomInspiredChallenge!
Week 1 of the # CraftRoomInspiredChallenge – Leaves.
Well, thanks to this challenge, I now actually have prompts for my crafting. This month, as well as working on some old favourites, which is becoming the norm lately; I will be doing some Autumn crafts!
We’re heading for more of an autumn vibe, though I’m hoping the sunny days hold out for a little longer!
This month, for a bit of fun; I thought I’d spend the next few weeks sharing a sneak peek of my preparations for the # CraftRoomInspiredChallenge; using different materials each week, including leaves, twigs, old cosy socks and orange fabric, yarn or thread. The final results will be shared over on Instagram every Sunday.
I thought I’d share something a bit different today, and that’s some handmade Disney cards!
I make cards as and when they’re needed; but rarely do what I did this week, which is make a few at once!
I’ve been working through my stash for ages; only buying what I really need, and this is something that I’ve had in a drawer for AGES! This was originally picked up because I (of course) love all things Disney, but it has since just sat there since, pretty much not getting used!
I found the kit in a drawer; while coming up with a card idea I will need soon, but thought, why not make up the rest too!
Of course face masks are around everywhere at the moment. I’ve had my trusty black and pink Disney mask for a while; (which I made during lockdown). But now the UK is making them mandatory in shops from July 24th; the time has come for me to have more than one available.
I haven’t really been out aside from work; or in outside spaces; so I didn’t need more than one mask. They wash up and dry so quickly once I get home from work!
However if I end up working on two consecutive days; and it isn’t quite dry, I’d potentially be left with a problem; and as this is the first week of that potentially happening, I thought I’d make a couple more.
Can’t believe we’re in June! I have been trying to keep busy with cleaning and garden stuff this week; my flowers are growing, so I thought it only fitting that I work on something similar craft-wise too!
This year I picked up a few mini cross stitch kits. For those moments when I’m not as motivated to work on a larger project. This week has been one of those weeks…
How to Brighten Up Your Garden When You Rent (Part 3)
When I started on my mission to brighten up the garden last year; I knew I wanted to include handmade and upcycled elements, but this is sometimes easier said than done. This week I share some easy upcycled candle Jars!
Because our outside space is somewhat limited; our garden is mostly grass, with some unruly hedges on one side, bordered by high fences. We have essentially a smallish square of decking, where we can actually sit. Therefore anything I do, is mostly to make this small space, more pleasant to sit in!
While I was already working on ideas; I knew I wanted to do something a little different…
How to Brighten Up Your Garden When You Rent (Part 2)
Quick cotton bunting is great for birthdays and other events; or like me, you can just use it to brighten up a dull space…
Coming up with ways to brighten up a boring, and rather grey corner of the garden without modifying anything (as we rent), can be a bit tricky, but this is a really quick and easy project, that you can do for all sorts of occasions, or, like me, just for fun!
So we’re all back to normal after the April A-Z Challenge, but of course things for the last few weeks things have been far from “normal”. To begin, I just want to say a HUGE thank you to any keyworkers out there, whether frontline NHS and medical staff, or those working in shops and other businesses keeping us, our families and friends all safe and hopefully healthy. My heart goes out to those affected by the coronavirus, whether literally, or in terms of stress from the lockdown, working from home, home schooling, or those who are lonely and isolated. We are all in this together!
I confess, the situation has been quite bearable here, the A-Z challenge has been something of a blessing really in terms of avoiding the weekly posts of what I’ve been up to! There is only so much you can really say considering I last worked on the 23rd March! So, here we are at the beginning of May and while I haven’t been up to much, I thought I’d share what has been going on this April!
