This post would have originally been our first car show since the pandemic, but thanks to some inclement weather, it was cancelled! Not to waste a day off we decided to head down to St Mawes Castle, an English Heritage site, not too far from Falmouth.
This was a fun impromptu day out to make up for the lack of show! We visited from about 2pm, and they close at 5 on a Sunday. You can of course check the website for opening times and prices.

To take advantage of a nice, sunny day off; we decided to head out for the day, to visit Pendennis Castle. An English Heritage site, not too far from Falmouth.
Pendennis is a fun day out, with lots of sunny open space, great views, and lots to explore! From Tudor history, to “modern” wartime history. You can find more information on the English Heritage website, including prices and opening times.

Something you will of course find a fair bit of here on the blog, are posts about our days out, and local wanderings! We love visiting some of the historic houses and sites here in cornwall; as well as many other places of interest!
This year my A-Z Challenge theme is: The Craft Room and Beyond – A Retrospective. A look back at previous content and basically a chance to share and revisit some things from the archive. The summer continues! We recently used our National Trust membership and visited the lovely Cotehele in Saltash, heading a little further afield to the Tamar Valley!
Cotehele is a (mostly) Tudor manor house, formerly owned by the Edgecumbe family, also owners of Mount Edgcumbe House in Torpoint.

Another sunny day, another opportunity to make the most of our National Trust membership! This month we visited the lovely St Michael’s Mount.
Located off of Marazion in Cornwall; St Michael’s Mount is on it’s own island; linked to the mainland by a causeway at low tide, or accessed by boat at high tide.
