The Seal Sanctuary – Saving Sealife in Cornwall

Located in Gweek, Cornwall, not far from Helston; the Seal Sanctuary, part of the Sea Life Trust charity; is a great day out for all the family. With nature walks, farm animals, penguins sea lions and of course seals. Recently the Secret Creek, home to three totally cute beavers. Located in a pretty coastal valley, and open year round, there is plenty to see on repeat visits.

A day out to...

We have visited at different times of year before; and can definitely attest to there being lots to see, at different times of year rain or shine.

A Day Out To – Screech Owl Sanctuary

This week, we decided to visit somewhere we haven’t been for a long time – Screech Owl Sanctuary.

We were looking at local places to visit recently, taking into account where we can do something outside. Both to make the most of the nice weather, and also something that isn’t just gardens; because I don’t want you all to get bored of me(!)

We last visited about 9 years ago, which really surprised us looking back! Just because we didn’t think it was that long ago.

Screech Owl Sanctuary and Wildlife Park (sign)

The clue is somewhat in the name, Screech is an owl sanctuary and wildlife park. Located in Goss Moor, near Indian Queens, just off the A30; so not too far away; and totally accessible for absolutely everyone, with lots of parking, and a great cafe and facilities on site.

Summer Nights – Paulo’s Drive in Circus *

This is a sponsored post, I was gifted tickets to Paulo’s Drive in Circus, in return for an honest review.

When I heard Paulo’s Circus was headed back to Cornwall, I was immediately excited!

With all that’s happening recently, this is just the thing to liven up the summer! When I was invited along; to review the show on opening night, I definitely wasn’t going to say no!

So we hopped in the car, and headed to the Drive In!

Car Show Season, 3 Fab Cornwall Shows 2019

Yes, it’s that time of year again; Car Show Season! I’ve blogged about car shows before, and of course we visited Haynes Motor Museum recently; so it’s no secret that we’re car fans in this house (even me and I can’t drive!)

Car Show Season

This year, instead of individual posts, I thought I’d round everything up into one big post.

In this post, I’ll share some photos and information from the fab shows we’ve attended this year! You can also find some photos on my highlights on Instagram; from the Marie Curie Country and Classics show this past weekend.

A Day Out To – Bodmin Jail (Just Visiting)

I’m a big fan of true crime and ghost stories, which is even more fun if it’s local interest! Considered one of the most haunted buildings in Britain, Bodmin Jail is a great place to visit.

A day out to...

Essentially a true crime exhibit based within the walls of the 18th Century Gaol, it’s a really interesting day out, and a bit spooky too!

The National Maritime Museum – Cornwall

It has been quite a miserable, wet January; and so when we were looking for places to visit, we decided to go somewhere indoors; to the National Maritime Museum!

A day out to...

Cornwall have a lot of indoor attractions; it’s worth checking out what is available wherever you’re staying if you’re in the area; and the weather isn’t at its best. You can also check out this article from Dolphin Holidays, which features a little quote from me too!
